In an effort to reduce extreme poverty rates, the Gianyar Regency Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the BIE-D Program with APKASI and YPAN.

During an audience session, Acting Regent of Gianyar, I Dewa Tagel Wirasa, openly mentioned the declining quality of human resources in the regency. This concerning situation is being addressed by the local government through initiatives such as providing educational scholarships.

I Dewa Tagel Wirasa welcomed the audience session with the Association of All Indonesian Regency Governments (APKASI) and the Adiluhung Nusantara Education Foundation (YPAN). One of the key agendas during the session on Monday (21/10) was the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the Indonesia Emas-Daerah (BIE-D) Scholarship Program.

The BIE-D program aims to enhance the skills and competencies of Indonesian human resources, promoting educational equality and sustainable development across the country. The presence of APKASI has been instrumental in aiding various institutions in understanding the regional development and progress throughout Indonesia.

Dr. Ida Ayu Ketut Surya Adnyani, SE., MAP., the Head of the Gianyar Regency Manpower Office, hopes that this memorandum of understanding will help reduce unemployment and poverty levels in the regency. In Bali Province, APKASI Education Expert, Dr. Himmatul Hasanah, MP., mentioned that thousands of students have already benefited from the BIE-D program.

The program offers three main initiatives: Regular Program, Overseas Scholarship Program, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Program. Himmatul Hasanah emphasized that this program is designed to enhance the quality of regional human resources, requiring the participation of all relevant parties. APKASI is committed to fostering collaboration with Provincial Governments and related stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the BIE-D program in alignment with the national education vision.
