The Ministry of Education and Culture has brought good news for teachers all across Indonesia. Responding to complaints about the complexity and time-consuming nature of managing e-performance by educators, Education Minister Abdul Mu’ti has issued a new policy regarding the management of teachers’, school principals’, and supervisors’ e-performance.

This new policy is designed with the aim of simplifying the e-performance management process, so that teachers can focus more on their main task, which is teaching. One significant change is the reduction in the frequency of e-performance filling. Previously, teachers had to fill out e-performance periodically, but now it only needs to be done once a year.

Teachers no longer need to bother uploading various supporting documents as before. Another convenience offered in this new policy is the removal of the point-based assessment system. The complex and often confusing assessment system will be replaced with a simpler and more understandable system.

With this new policy in place, it is hoped that teachers can be more productive and feel more motivated in carrying out their duties. Additionally, this policy is also expected to improve the quality of education, as teachers can focus more on developing competencies and innovations in teaching. Of course, this policy needs to be supported by intensive socialization among teachers, so that its implementation can run smoothly and effectively.

However, will the quality of assessment continue to run smoothly? This is a crucial question that needs to be answered. If the assessment system is not detailed enough, it may lead to difficulties in identifying the individual development needs of teachers. Consequently, professional development for teachers may become less effective.

In conclusion, this new policy regarding e-performance management is a very positive step towards improving the well-being and professionalism of teachers. With this policy in place, it is hoped that teachers can work more comfortably and focus, thereby positively impacting the quality of education in Indonesia.
